People’s Celebrity News Tracker is launching this afternoon for the Android OS. The popular iPhone version “for those who want to know EVERYTHING happening on the celebrity scene right now” launched in May 2009 to lukewarm reviews. It has since gained favor with users after several updates.

The app features: a celebrity photo database, up-to-the-minute celeb news, hundreds of stories and People-only exclusives and will run $1.99 in the Android Market. The Android version will have an exclusive feature with a home-screen headline news widget which is obviously not available on the widget-less iPhone.
