The Android Market has its issues, and one of them is that there are currently very few good games out there. One thing that’s very apparent is that most of the big publishers have none of their games out there yet. The question is, will they ever? Without being required to deliver their games through a specific store, as on the iPhone, some publishers may choose other ways to distribute their apps and avoid the 30% transaction fee from Google.

One company that’s done this is Gameloft, the publishers of huge iPhone hits like: Uno, Assassin’s Creed, Dungeon Hunter and Hero of Sparta. Currently Gameloft lists about 11 games as available for Android, and you can only purchase them directly from their website. They do make them easy to get, though. You simply browse on your phone to their website, it will detect which phone you’re using and then will present the games you can purchase with a click.
